Meet The Designer
Charles Jay was diagnosed with Kidney Cancer at the age of 2. After having surgical removal of his right kidney and undergoing chemotherapy treatment he stands today a cancer survivor of 24 years. In 2015 he decided to feed his desire to become a fashion influencer and put his unique style to the test.
He started the brand "URBANE" which by definition means "the reflecting of elegance or sophistication especially in expression". Charles attempts to tell his story through his designs by uses of symbolization. Each symbol on the products stands for something. Whether its the "93" which was the year he was diagnosed with cancer or the "Foundation" Color Blocks which have become a staple point for the brand. 3 Collections in 2 years and Charles Jay has landed features with Philly Fashion Week, Huffington Post, High-Voltage Fashion Magazine, UK Based Anti-Fashion Magazine, 6 ABC, Philly.com & much more.
"Every peasant has a lawyer inside of him, just as every lawyer, no matter how URBANE he may be, carries a peasant within himself."
